Morning Glory fills the sky
I look up to Him and say
You’re the only One I want to serve
on this beautifully splendid day
We can see the glass half-full
or choose to see the things we lack
and the moment we take our eyes off Him
the enemy will attack
choose today whom you will serve – Joshua 24:15
Don’t you know that within 10 minutes of writing this little poem, everything that could go wrong did? I was praying early this morning, and thinking about how every choice we make during the day- no matter how big or small– either serves the Father, or serves ourselves. As I was getting ready to head out for the day, the girls began to bicker back and forth- spewing venomous words from their mouths at each other. I lost my keys and my “cool” at the same time. Where was that calm, peace, and joy I had 20 minutes before?
It’s not a feeling… it’s a choice…
every action
every reaction
every thought
every deed
I have to choose Him. The glass is still half-full…and He wants fill it up today!
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” –Hebrews 13:5
I love the reminder that every choice serves the Father or ourselves. Thank you!

God is with us through everything. I do not feel Him, but my heart and mind tell me different. I see HIm in Nature most of all. I do not see Him in people too much. Humans are way too selfish. Alesia

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Yes, people can be very self-centered. That’s why we need God. He helps us to look outside of ourselves and to love others. I,too, feel closest to Him when I am looking at sunsets, the ocean, and other natural things. I hope your dog is feeling better!

Julie,
Thank you. He has really struggled, but it is strange, he goes from totally not even knowing me to seeming ok 10 hours later. My friend thinks he has cancer, but I really don’t know. The vet said last week that the next time he comes in, we may need to put him down. I am treating him with heavy meds and just hope for as much quailty of life he can have for the rest of this year before my youngest goes off to college. I think then Linus would have done his “duty” to be the greatest dog on earth a few cute boys could have had. The boys were 2 and 6 when we got him and the boys are now 17 and 21! It is hard to believe. Thank you, Alesia

Beautiful, as always Julie! Thankful we “met” as similar female worship pastors on here.
I think more people need to be influenced by YOU and your beautiful lyrics! A friend pf mine from college is starting a chain-writing. nomination-based writing competition. I nominated you 🙂 Because bloggers need to reach as many people with the gospel! Are you interested (no pressure) ? Check out my post with the explanation of how to spread the word. http://goo.gl/V0A9aQ
I’m excited to see where it may go. I just know there’s no faster way to to spread the good news of the gospel than the internet!
